Networking 101 - The Essentials
This networking series will feature some insight from an individual passionate about networking! Networking is about making links between what one person is looking for and what another has to offer. This can even be pushed to the next level by exploring what collaborations amongst different parties could be made. In my opinion, the core of networking is about thinking outside the box. In other words, seeing how people could work together and grow from what each has to offer.![]() | |

- Making a difference in someone’s life by positively contributing to it
- Introducing different people to each other
- Enabling alliances to be formed
- Acquiring social capital or contacts in other words.
In the end, we are all people regardless of the profession we practice. Hence, when networking with someone, do not think about their job title. Rather focus on the common points that enable humans to relate to one another! The bottom line is that both of you are human beings and you both has strengths and weaknesses. So build on such commonalities to establish a cordial dialogue and then guide the discussion towards a more occupational/business/professional direction when you become more acquainted and comfortable.
